Cassie from Helloworld loves giving back to the Karratha community.
The travel industry is in a strange place at the moment. There’s confusion about where we can travel and when, and sometimes it just feels like too much of a hassle. Luckily, the team at Helloworld Karratha are here to help us out! Though, at one point, they weren’t without their own uncertainty.
Cassie from Helloworld recalls how hard they were hit when COVID came about, and restrictions were put in place. Thankfully, Helloworld had the support of the entire community behind them.
“The outpouring of support and love by local businesses and the community was astounding. We received lots of stunning flowers, hampers, and gifts, and many businesses who had never used our services before started booking their travel with us. The strength of our client relationships and friendships built over 20-odd years serving the community really showed.”
Consequently, Cassie loves giving back to the community wherever she can. Helloworld sponsor local groups and not-for-profits by providing free return flights to Perth as raffle prizes. “The winners are always so very excited and grateful. It’s also so heart-warming to see our customers’ happy faces when their holidays are locked and loaded!” she said.
Planning other peoples’ holidays is a big job, and the Helloworld team make themselves available 24/7 to help when things don’t quite go to plan. So, they love starting the day off with a coffee-run to Jamaica Blue. Some days, they even go back for seconds! Cassie’s go-to order? A cappuccino.
The Helloworld team aren’t just co-workers, they’re good friends who love to have a good time. One of Cassie’s favourite memories is a staff Christmas party.
“We did an ‘Amazing Race’ theme. We rode bicycles from venue to venue around town. We were dressed in crazy costumes, following clues around the shopping centre, and had to feed random shoppers with donuts. The strange looks we got…” she recalled.
When she’s not helping others create the perfect holiday, Cassie loves getting out in the community. She loves basketball, boating and camping on the Dampier Archipelago islands, watching her kids play sport and doing fitness classes at the gym. Some her favourite additions to Karratha have been the Leisureplex and the Red Earth Arts Precinct.
As if you need an excuse to book a holiday with the crazy year we’ve had, but Cassie sums it up pretty well.
“Everyone deserves a holiday! Visiting and immersing yourself in places other than where you live allows you to open your mind, heart, and soul to our wondrous world. Even exploring our own backyard can be amazing. Travel, explore, breathe it all in, repeat!”
So, if you’re looking to book a holiday, or just have some travel questions, make sure you visit Cassie and the team at Helloworld. They’re the only travel agent in the region who have worked in, lived in, played in, and contributed to the local community for over 20 years! Happy holidaying.
